Terms and Conditions – Soy Candle Making

Congratulations, you are reserving a maker seat at one of our soy candle workshop. Please find below a full disclosure of our TERMS and CONDITIONS. You will be required to accept these terms and conditions upon registration. We do our very best to be fair, and our policies allow us to create DIY happiness as well as your safety and enjoyment, as well as those around you and of course, our creative team. Happy making!

The Nature of Soy Candle Making

Candle making is a skill that often takes years of experimentation, development, and practice to nearly perfect. This workshop is intended to be an interactive, social and fun introduction to candle making using soy wax, a natural product. As with any natural product, imperfections can occur. And in the case of using soy wax, imperfections are desirable and a sign of purity and not a soy/paraffin blend.

Your candles require a minimum of 90+ minutes to set.  This time can increase due to temperature and humidity levels; there are occasions when your candles may take two hours or more before they are ready for the journey home.  You are welcome to have them shipped to you for an extra cost.

Length of Workshop:

Our workshops are scheduled for one hour, and we ask everyone to arrive 15 minutes early. This will give you time to find parking, your seat and get comfortable so that we can start the workshop on time. The first 50 minutes or so is the “creative” portion of the workshop with the last portion being the “social” part of the experience. The social part of the workshop is downtime and ideal for relaxing, socializing, enjoying a sip or two, and mingling with friends.

Our workshops follow a tight, instructor-led schedule for your enjoyment and the safety of those around you. We start promptly at the time stated at registration. Guests arriving up to 15 minutes late will join the group at whatever point the workshop has progressed to and may not have the opportunity to select a preferred scent. As with any scheduled situation, if you are running late, it is best to notify our staff or a friend, so that we are prepared.

Cancellation Policy:

We do not offer refunds at any time. We understand that life happens and sometimes unforeseen circumstances pop up. You are always welcome to send someone in your place – though we don’t get involved in the finances of this transaction. Collecting from your replacement will be your responsibility.

Safety Waiver:

I understand the nature of Artisan’s Aromas and in consideration of booking and paying for my attendance and the supplies and tools required for this project, I hereby release Artisan’s Aromas and all its subsidiaries, their agents, their instructors/employees, and the property/building owner of all liability for any injuries or accidents that may occur while participating in Artisan’s Aromas activities.

Candle making tools and materials such as, but not limited to, hot soy wax, fragrance oils, sharp objects such as thermometers, glass and objects or supplies may result in injury. I recognize that I will be exposed to loud noises, hot soy wax, and fragrance oils.

I recognize there may be certain inherent risks in participating in Artisan’s Aromas activities. I agree to take precautions, including observing all policies, recommendations, and warnings, whether provided verbally or in writing.

ALCOHOL POLICY/WAIVER (if applicable):

I agree that I am 21 years of age or older and will consume my alcoholic beverages responsibly. I release and waive any and all claims or action that may arise against Artisan’s Aromas, its affiliates, successors or assigns as well as the owner and employees/contractors as a result of anything which occurs before, during or after my workshop including to but not limited to injury, loss, theft or damage to any person or property. We respectfully ask that you be smart and responsible when it comes to enjoying some adult beverages; someone is counting on you coming home at the end of the day!

Image Release:

I hereby grant Artisan’s Aromas permission to use my likeness in photographs, video recordings or electronic images in any of its publications, including website entries, without payment or any other consideration.

I understand and agree that these materials will become the property of Artisan’s Aromas and will not be returned. I hereby irrevocably authorize the organizations to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish or distribute these images for purposes of publicizing the organizations’ programs or for any other lawful purpose. In addition, I waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product, including written or electronic copy, wherein my likeness appears. Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of my image. I hereby hold harmless and release and forever discharge the organizations from all claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.

I HAVE READ Artisan’s Aromas IMAGE RELEASE, TERMS AND CONDITIONS, AND SAFETY WAIVER AND UNDERSTAND THEM. I FURTHER UNDERSTAND THAT BY COMPLETING PURCHASE I FULLY ACCEPT THE “WORKSHOP TERMS AND CONDITIONS” AND I VOLUNTARILY SURRENDER CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS THAT I MIGHT OTHERWISE HAVE.
